Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

Watching class and recitals

Parents of ages 5 to 7 are welcome to wait on the bench in the front hall, which has a window onto the mat room. Week 6 of every session is a watch week: families sit along the mat room wall and watch the class. On other days we keep the door closed so students can hear their coach. Showcase seating is open, and photos and video of your own student from your seat are welcome, without flash.

What to wear and bring

A fitted top with shorts or leggings, so a coach can see the shape of a skill. Hair is tied back and off the face, and jewelry stays at home. Bare feet or grip socks work on the mats, and shoes stay in the hall. Nothing loose over the top: it rides up in a handstand. We take costume sizes in person, in the winter.

When to keep your child home

Please keep your student home with a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, and until they have been well for a full day. Tell a coach about any pain before class, and a coach may sit a skill out for the day. Text or call the studio and we will tell you how a missed class can be made up.

Drop-off and pickup

A grown-up brings and collects every student in the ages 5 to 7 classes, and the coach hands each student to the person who came with them. For ages 8 and up, the door opens ten minutes before class and we ask you to tell us who is collecting. We ask for ID from anyone we haven't met.

Absences and late arrival

Text or call the studio when your student will miss a class. A missed class can be made up in another class of the same level, or the level just below it, within the same session. A student who arrives after warm-up waits with a coach until they can join safely; warm-up is part of the class.

Closures for weather and holidays

We close the week of Thanksgiving, for the winter holidays and for one week in spring that follows the area schools. When West Fargo schools close for snow, we close, and we text every family that morning.

Screens and phones

Phones stay in bags during class. Families may film their own student from the bench or from a watch-week seat. A coach may film a skill for feedback in class only with your written permission, and we never post that video.

Still wondering?

Ask at the door, call the studio, or send a message.
