Ages 8 to 16
Acro for dancers
Tumbling for students who also dance, with the transitions a dance routine needs.
Students bring the skills they already have, like cartwheels and walkovers, and work on how those skills start and finish in a dance phrase. Classes mix levels, and a coach sets stations by skill. Students who dance in another studio or on a team are welcome, and so are students who simply like to move.
Ages 8 to 11 and ages 12 to 16, in their own classes

What a class is like
- 01
Step 1: Warm-up
A dance warm-up on the floor, then wrist and shoulder prep.
- 02
Step 2: Skill stations
Each student works on a skill from their own level on the mats.
- 03
Step 3: Transitions
Walking into a cartwheel, rolling out of a handstand, moving from a bridge to standing.
- 04
Step 4: A short phrase
A few counts of dance that link two skills, made up in class and changed each week.
- 05
Step 5: Cool-down
A slow stretch and a look at the phrase from the side of the room.
What to wear and bring
A fitted top with shorts or leggings, so a coach can see the shape of a skill.
On the mats
Bare feet or grip socks work on the mats, and shoes stay in the hall.
Hair and jewelry
Hair is tied back and off the face, and jewelry stays at home.
In the bag
A water bottle with a closing lid. Nothing loose over the top: it rides up in a handstand.
